You can share the external GPS antenna regardless of which unit you have it connected to ...

The 999 having internal GPS would be most effective at the bow because it is already close to the bow xducer ...

Then mount the external GPS antenna over the transom xducer ...with the 898 at the console ...

    thanks.

I can offset the transducer location in the 899. While the GPS is in the head unit (sonar) and the transducer is on the transom. I can change the settings in the 899 to show that the transducer is x feet from the GPS (horizontal), x feet below the GPS unit (vertical), and x feet offset from the center of the GPS. In other words I can offset the transducer in relationship to the GPS in the X, Y, and Z planes. Puts my X on the spot when marking waypoints.

I don't recall these settings options in any HB units ...not even ONIX ...

    Can you explain ...??

Make sure you update both units to the latest release.

    Rickie,
Ill look for it when I install everything and put the batteries back in the boat. I bought a Terrova 80# Trolling motor to replace my 55# 12v Edge and have to add a battery. To add the battery I have to move my starting battery and move some wiring. Then reconfigure the battery storage area so I can get both group 31 in there. Basically have to turn the battery trays 90 degrees for the trolling motor and install another battery box in my anchor compartment for the starting battery. Anyway, I need to get that done first.
