Default Lowrance Hook 7 mid/ HDI

Anyone have any experience with this unit? I noticed it was on sale at Cabelas, and I've really been wanting to upgrade to something with GPS and DI. I mainly fish shallowish lakes, but there's a few lakes around me that are deeper that I would probably be more likely to fish with the added ability of being able to find brush, mark it and come back to fish it. I feel like I limit myself because of my lack of electronics, and being able to mark it I'd be more willing to expand my horizons a bit. Here's a link:

This is a great package for the money. My Ranger (Floor model) was purchased from Cabelas with the same unit flush mounted. Ranger epoxied the HDI transducer in at the factory. I can get clear sonar and down scan at 60 mph.

Mind you the GPS is a little sluggish but the 2D CHIRP and down scan are very good especially for the price of this package. We have the same deal but you won't pay sales tax and I can ship it for free.

Brian, what is the difference in the Hook 5/7 models and the Hook 5x/7x models?

The "X" models have no GPS. The are fishfinders only. Brian
