You need to talk to Okie Bob off the Oklahoma board.
Just started researching this myself, but wanted to see who has it or had it, and any information either positive or negative.
Ricky, your wisdom is more than welcomed and hope that you can give some additional insight.
Thanks,
Brian

SpotLightScan is a valid tool - with challenges ...
SpotLightScan only works on a foot control TM because it has a sensor that installs in the foot pedal to orient the beam with the position of the foot pedal ...
Users say it takes some practice to smoothly and slowly pan the xducer to get good scans ... But it can be done ...
Users also say a Troll Perfect accessory can help with panning smoothness ...

On a side note ... SpotLightScan has 2d and DownScan built in also ...so it could be used as a regular HDI function most of the time and then use SpotLightScan in specific situations ...
I could see SpotLightScan used to scan under docks for example ...

Does it only work or power up when power is applied in the foot control?
So, it would not work if your using a remote??

The sensor connects to your NMEA backbone ...
The position of the foot pedal is the information used to "know" where the beam is pointing ...
