    Default Motorguide X3 / Lowrance Elite 7

I am mounting an Elite 7ti on the bow. I am running a cable steer X3 motorguide. I have searched and came up with 100 ways to route the ducer cable up the trolling motor. What is the best way to do this to allow for turning and no kinks in the cable, as well as the fold when deploying the trolling motor. If anyone has any pics, that would help a ton.

Sir, can't do pics. At least not on the web. Too far behind times I guess. I could email some to you if you choose. I have the x3 MG with my Garmin 93 on it. If you look at the clamp on the TM, there is a notch removed from it. Take the clamp loose and lay the ducer wire in that trough. Mount your ducer and run wire up shaft as always. You don't need any slack at this point. After leaving the head, you will want a bit of play in the ducer cable. How you then store the wiring IDK what kinda boat etc you have. Coil the ducer wire in a large loop and stow as far away from any TM power cables, etc as possible. Hope this is of help.

    Thanks TeeDee,

I see the cutout behind the shaft on the mount. My question was how to run the wire where the shaft turns and also where the mount folds for stow and deploy.

Sorry. Mount your ducer to the bottom of TM, bring cable up alongside and attach to the lower (black) shaft enough places ( I did 3) to be secure. At the top of the lower (black) shaft pass over the collar that now becomes upper (chrome) shaft and into the groove we spoke of. The black part turns, the chrome does not. You should have plenty of slack available, deploy the motor and see what you need for movement, attach to Lowrance and stow the remaining cable. Maybe this time I have understood. As I said, I can e-mail pics should you need.

Thanks for the help. I got it done this weekend. I secured the top half too but left slack coiled right at the turning point. I was hoping there would be a a cleaner way to accomplish this but there really isn't.
