    Default Garmin Striker 4

Looking at one of these to mount on bow and transducer on trolling motor.
I just want something compact and simple, and it has good reviews. Anyone have one? Can the screen be zoomed to only show the sonar and not the GPS if I wanted to? Screen is too small to have a split IMO.

    Point to notice ...:

Striker does not have contour mapping ...But only a blank background plotter similar to a small handheld GPS ...

Right. Precisely why I'm not interested in the waypoint portion of the screen.

Very Good research on your part ...

Some buy the Striker because it says "GPS" and then are disappointed when they learn no contour mapping can be added whatsoever to the Striker ...

Got a friend running a 93sv on his console and a striker 7 on his TM. He's happier than an outhouse rat. Kinda think his striker pics are as good as the 93 some days. He doesn't split his screen on the striker, or not that I have seen. Don't matter what size you get, they all get small when you start halving 'em up. Or 70.

Bought the Garmin at Bass Pro. Talked to the guy and he explained it. I can eliminate the split screen in the settings.

I run a Striker 4 on my kayak. For me it's perfect in that application, bright, accurate, easy to read, and simple to use.

On my big big boat I run a 93sv at the helm plus a 70s that is used strictly for mapping. Can't go wrong with a Garmin.
