    Default Helix 7

I have a 1 1/2 yr old Helix 7. Mounted in front of boat, transducer on transom, and transducer on trolling motor, also have a selector switch to pick the want I want to use. Last two times out, I am getting a low voltage message after running for awhile, also front transducer doesn't not accurately read depth. example, back trans reads 4 feet of water, front may read 1 or maybe 10 or maybe 4. Also I loose the bottom while moving anything thing faster than 10 mph. Have tried adjustments per install manual.

I know there is not a voltage issue

Have you had the battery load testing ...??

It can show charged and still be bad to where it discharges over a short time enough to cause a low voltage alarm on the unit ...

And also ... Is the unit wired direct to the battery and not thru the boat wiring...??

And also ... If you're using the HB TS3 switch... you should know that one side of the selector is 12v hot all the time when that side is selected (and can run the battery down even with the unit powered off) ...

Make sure it wired directly to the battery with a good connection and that may fix both issues

first it only acts up with front transducer, yes I know about the hot side of switch. it is wired to crank battery, and yes this battery test perfect, plus it cranks the gas motor fine while showing low voltage error. But, everytime i pull trolling motor in, i try to drain water from prop area but sometimes water runs onto area where panel is that has switch, behind this panel is all the connections. maybe I better pull that apart and check everything.

Corrosion can play a devilish game with electronics. We in the automotive repair business take it very serious. I coat every connection, terminal with a high grade of dielectric grease. Even paint over connections that don't move, such as bolted connections. Any corrosion just a little in any of you power circuits can hurt. Its what we call a voltage drop.

very familiar with voltage drops. Computers don't like that. Went out today and it was worse then Tuesday. Work on it tomorrow
