Default Trolling motor connections on bow failing

I have a 24 volt Terrova on the bow of a Ranger RT178c. The trolling motor plug in and the receiver side (power source) at the bow are failing, causing the terrova to randomly shut down. I am looking at the Deltran power connector set.

Does anyone have any experience with the reliability of the unit? Or is there something else out there that provides a substantially secure connection, that you have expierence with?

Here is the best I have ever found. It twists to lock into place and very well made. Connectproâ„¢ Receptacle & Plug - Marinco - iboats.com

I would just hard wire and forget the plug. Solder lugs on each end and bolt together.

I thought about a direct connect/permanent mount. I believe it is the most reliable but I think I read where the terrova isn't supposed to have current going to it when the batteries are charging. I could isolate it but I wanted the option of removing the trolling motor if I traveled with the boat and left it outside. (It has the sliding bracket).

I am using one just like it as I have to keep my boat out side, I remove it. Three years now without a problem. (Now I just jinks myself) I also have a locking pad under mine.

The Deltran blows everything away. Much better connection. Positive lock but easy release. It's the type of connector used on aircraft.

I hard wired mine. I believe it is the V2 that shouldn't be hardwired.
