Ethernet question???
If I ethernet my HB899ci HD SI to my HB858c HD what will they be able to share? Will they be able to share 2d? Will the HB899ci HD SI share it's GPS antenna to the HB858c HD through the ethernet cable? Thanks for any and all the help with these questions.

The 899ci HD SI and 858c HD should share 2d, Accessories (your GPS puck) , and Waypoints ...
The xx9 series units require the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable ... (HB removed the individual metal Ethernet connection and moved the Ethernet connection into the cable collector) ...

Thanks Rickie. Just being able to share the GPS waypoints will be a big help. I have pretty well learned how to find them(crappie) with the 899 on my console and get a waypoint on them so with being able to share that waypoint I can go to that waypoint with the 858 up front.

Ethernet question???
I have used Ethernet between HB 998 si and HB 899hd si. I can share waypoints as well as transducers. Since my transducer in front is 2d I have to use the back transducer if I want to use di view. I can change the setting on unit to use either transducer as well as share gps and waypoints from either unit.
I think your 858 unit is down image and 2d only and should be up front and use the 899 hd si unit on the console.

I just ordered the 1159cHD for up front to link to my helix 10 at the console.Got it mainly to share waypoints but can you also share the SI and DI from the Helix.tks

The units will share all sonar screens, including giving you the ability to view the SI from your 899 on your 858. They will share everything except map cards (such as Lakemaster). They will even share transducers if you want. I run my 899 and 859 from a single shared transducer.

xx9 series and HELIX series should share Waypoints, Accessories, and Sonar technologies (xx9 series will need 6.640 software or higher) ...

xx8 series units were not given the capability to to share "unlike" Sonar technologies like the xx9 series and HELIX series ... (SI to DI unit, SI to 2d unit, dedicated DI to SI unit, dedicated DI to 2d unit)
HB statement is ..."The new (xx9) can view the old (xx8), but the old (xx8) can't view the new (xx9)" ...
The xx8 series can still share "like" Sonar technologies (SI to SI unit, DI to DI unit, 2d) ...
