    Default What do you see?

I was fooling around on Google Maps this morning looking at lakes. I notices on 2 lake maps , shot in Sept. 2015, something kinda intriguing. What do you think the speckles are? They only appear in this bay of the lake. they are not gulls or birds as iv never seen any on this lake. Could they be fall staging crappie?
As I said I looked at another lake and it showed the same speckles in 2 location of the lake but not the whole lake.

I would say that what you are seeing is waves on the lake with the white caps showing as white specks you can go back in time with google earth and the lake may be calm and not look the same. The icon that looks like a blue earth that is historical imagery will let you see pictures of earlier pictures. Remember these pictures are only taken every so often and are not present day or time pictures. This is just what I know about this and many more people can tell you more about google earth.

I did not think of waves but as I said this is the only place on the entire lake with white caps, I don't think so. If they were waves they would have shown up on other parts of the lake. But thanks for the suggestion

They don't have to be "whitecaps" to reflect the sunlight ... even a little breeze will ripple the water enough to cause those "spots" in the image. I've seen them on many different lakes that I've looked at on Google Earth.

Do like Scrat suggested & look back in the history !! It's definitely NOT fish.

As a self proclaimed Google Earth junkie, I can say those are ripples on the water from a wind gust. Isn't Google awesome though!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was aliens taking refuge in the lake. Clearly, I was wrong..again.

I completely agree with Ricky. I have seen the same kind of photos I Australia where they have an even worse Asian Carp problem. The difference right now is that their federal government is doing something about it.
