    Default Onix vs helix

Which is better for a weekend angler Onix or Helix. Like to hear all advantages and disadvantages of both. Thanks.

ONIX is touch (comes in non-touch), very customizable, more varied control of Sonar transmitters, can share mapping with another ONIX, has dedicted DI in the same SI xducer ...

HELIX is wide screen format, easier menus ...

I believe the only difference is the touch screen and about $2k. The Helix will do everything the weekend warrior could imagine and need except for the touch screen. I for one don't see the value in putting finger prints all over my screen. I have enough trouble with water spots.

The All-in-one transducer on the Onix is one of it's biggest advantages ..... Great SI and Excellect DI in one unit.

What is best depends on your budget unless you are lucky enough to get one of the Onix on sale.....Cabelas has had the Onix 10 Si touch on sale for $1499 ....but are out of stock now. The Onix is also available in the NT (non-touch) version....which I think I would prefer and it is cheaper and has better screen visibility than the touch unit.
