The transducer is 8" in length. The only possibility I see is drilling a hole in the skeg. Anyone have a better idea?

Check out transducer shield & saver. They may have a bracket that lets it work.

Minn-Kota says it will not invalidate warranty to drill a hole in the skeg. Bolt, nut, washers, hard rubber spacer, and a number of washers cut from an old inner tube. Works fine.
