Default Wiring Parallel and Series of 24 Volt System

    [IMG][/IMG]

Just drew this diagram. The image on the right is correct according to what I have just read. But the wiring to my trolling motor would be easier for me with the image on the left with my boat layout if it's possible. So my question is......if I have all these batteries linked like this, Can I just hook my trolling motor up to the positive and negative post of the same battery and still keep my voltage approx 24 and approx double my amp hours?

Scratch that. Dont think im going to connect them all because I dont want them in my boat ALL the time. Just when cranking or on windy daYS. Going to get some quicik disconnect plugs and just unplug one joined set of batteries and plug the other one in.

Looks to me like both diagrams would result in 12V ...not 24.

Thats parallel wireing four batterys wired like you show is 12 volts Just wire two batterys in series pos to neg and you will have 24 volts......connect TM to the pos and negative posts that are not connected

If you want to use 4 batteries to get 24V, you could do this. The extra 2 batteries would double your amp hours.

Correct, no green wire. The green wire would short it out. Be careful not to do that.
