Default Who has mounted a transducer on their xi5?

Just ordered a new boat today and I recently ordered both a Helix 7 and 859 from Brian to go on it. The 859 is what I'm planning on running up front and I'm curious how people have ran their transducer cables. On my old Terrova I removed the head and ran it down the groove in the shaft but since the boat isnt here I don't know if itll work the same with the xi5 or not.

There is a post a little below this one that shows how to do it with a coiled air hose

dont know how I missed that, lol. I'm not sure if I like the coil method or not. My xi5 has the built in transducer and I'm thinking of maybe using my Helix 7 2D/GPS up front plugged to the xi5 instead, and use my DI in the back.

The coiled air hose does work. If you decide to go that route, I recommend, you also run a ground wire, along with your transducer cable. (if you watch some of the videos, I've posted, you'll see how well the Onix transducer performs mounted on the trolling motor, with the ground wire attached to the lower part of the trolling motor)

I'm not Kosmo, but the ground wire is attached to the housing of the motor and helps with any stray RF interference from the motor

no pic but the basics of it is attach one end of the wire to the trolling motor 'ducer mount bracket where it'll contact the TM housing, then wrap it around the 'ducer wire up to where you can reach a ground that's connected to the same battery that your sonar is attached to.
