    Default Navionics v. Lakemaster

In a head to head shoot out with both products (their latest versions for Alabama waters or Southeast) which is the better chart and why?

Reason for my question - I'm thinking about running a Ray Marine unit for navigation and using my HB (1198c SI) for trolling, both with different transducers and not networked together. In navigation I'm interested making sure I stay out of the skinny water while running.

All mapping companies interpolate map data for certain parts of waters ...

It is basically impossible for a map company to physically map every inch of every body of water on their own map cards ...

Interpolating is "filling in" map data between their own map data points with map data from other sources ... Paper charts, leased map charts, etc ...

I have both Navionics and LakeMaster ...

I find that Navionics is more accurate on some parts of Ky Lake ... While LakeMaster is more accurate on other parts of Ky Lake ...

LakeMaster is more customizable in the HB units than Navionics ...

Follow this link below, it is the Navionics Web App it is a map previewer what you see is what you get. Once you zoom in click the sonar icon on the lower left for the High Def SonarChart layer. I would rec. the Navionics + card which covers all of the US and Canada and is preloaded with Navionics Nautical Chart base map. you then download the high def SonarCHart layer of all the areas you fish.

Being able to set depth highlights and the accuracy on a large part of the lakes I fish make me 100% Lakemaster. I've lost enough crankbaits to Navionics Premium being so non-accurate, I could pay for the Lakemaster cards several times over. Try some of the places I troll that supposedly have say 16 feet of water according to Navionics but the 2D shows 6 feet and hang up 5-6 cranks at one time and you will see why I feel so strongly for Lakemaster.

In my situation lake master is very limited in the amount of lakes they offer. They actually offer none of the lakes I fish.
