Scrat,
HB does their very best on getting your unit back to you ASAP.
When you try the 800 khtz, you will probably have to turn down the sensitivity from where you had it set for 455 khtz and you will likely find that the 800 Freq. in best used after you have located an interesting target using the 455 Freq. I have found that the 800 really gives superior detail to the 455, at shorter ranges. Find a target with the 455 with a range no wider than necessary for the water that you're in, then move your boat closer to the target and use the 800 to see better detail of the target. I have found that the 800 performs best when only used at the shorter ranges. It takes some experimenting to learn what you need to know to get the most out of your unit, but it's worth the effort.
