Default HB899ci hd si and AS SI DB Y cable

My question is will it be better to use a AS SI DB Y cable on my HB 899ci hd si as I already have a 2d transducer (XNT 9 20 T) mounted on the other side of my transom. Will it be in my best interest to also raise the XHS 9 HDSI 180T transducer slightly higher from the bottom of the boat to protect it from possible damage. The way I understand this is that the side and down imaging is best running slow speeds about 3-4mph and at that speed the si transducer would be plenty enough in the water to get readings. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Another question is will the XHS 9 HDSI 180T transducer pickup the 2D transducer on the other side of my transom and block out any pictures or will it not be enough to really be a problem?

    XHS 9 HDSI 180 T = ~ $270

    XNT 9 20 = ~ $60

If your lake is prone to damaging xducers hanging off your transom ... $60 is much easier to swallow that $270 ...

This is a possibility ...but can't really be determined without trying ...

If you have a step transom ... The XNT 9 20 should be mounted under the step anyway (which would put the XNT 9 20 in front of the HDSI) ...
