Default Helix SI/GPS at higher speeds

Should I be able to get a reading while running the outboard at speeds around 30mph with the Helix SI/GPS? I realize I wont get the side imaging views at these speeds but would at least like to get a depth reading. It seems I lose everything when I reach about 15 mph? Thanks

It depends on the turbulence coming off your boat and across the tx. Some transoms just won't allow a good mount to get a reading. You can also try angling the tx forward a few degrees for an improved 2D reading at high speed, but that would make the SI look funny when using it

SHOW US A PIC OF DUCER,U SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET GOOD 2D, I CAN STILL SEE DI AND SI AT THAT SPEED BUT NOT A GOOD PIC,DO HAVE DUCER ANGLE A LITTLE,DOES NOT AFFECT THE PIC ON SI,IT WOULD TAKE A LOT OF ANGLE TO AFFECT PIC,I GO BY BRIDGE PILLINGS AND THEY LOOK FINE

You can add an in hull transducer to solve your issue.

Correct ... "If" he has a fiberglass hull ...

You would also need for a shoot thru application ...

A lot of times your tranducer just needs adjustment. There is a fine line with the way it is mounted. Too deep and you get a big rooster tail, too shallow and you won't get a high speed reading. I have the same unit and I had to adjust the transducer several times before I got it just right.
