Everyone I know who has them love them. IMO it is a Terrova with a motorized lift assist. I've ran Terrovas for years and wouldn't have anything else.

I started using one in September....I love it. I didn't want to be pulling a motor out of the water and go over the side...I fish a lot by myself and I don't consider myself old...65...I just didn't want to bother with it. Having said that...if it breaks....or you run your batteries down....you have to pull the side cover off to get it to raise manually. As for how it works on the water you can read a lot on here about it but I will tell you how it works for me. I am an avid UL angler. When I find Gills I want to stay on them. If I am fishing in a body of water that has current...even a little bit of steady current...I can point it up stream..set it to anchor, and it will hold that spot.......with my bow pointed just where I set it at. If I am on calm flat water it will hold the spot where I set it but the bow may not stay where I pointed it. Many times it will act like the motor is the pivot point as it swings around...but it will keep you within 10 feet of where you told it to lock at. My boat is only about a thousand pounds and several times I have positioned it off a wing wall just barely in the current and it will hold it there all day with the 80# thrust. It is very important to be as close to a dead stop as you can be when you hit the anchor lock for it to work as it was designed. I never use the foot pedal.....I keep it in the boat just in case. I find that the remote is great for my type of fishing. That is pretty much it.

    Regards

I love mine with one exception, and thats been pretty much figured out now I think. External Transducer placement was my problem. But a guy posted a really good advice with pictures in the electronics forum and I think it just eradicated my problem. So now I love it and wouldn't go any other way! Taking the side plate off to manually put it out or bring it in is no big deal. Takes a screwdriver and 30 seconds of my time. So if ya got the funds.....go for it!!!! Plus seeing the people's at the boat ramp jaws drop is priceless when u deploy it with no one in the boat. Its so funny. Happens all the time lol.

I have one. As stated by MRDUX, it is basically a remote deploy Terrova. I like. It's the ticket for us old farts (including Billbob). I wish the radio had a little more range. Safe limit is 30 feet, but I have been out 30-50 ft fooling with spotlock from our dock. Great product.

It sure seems like Minn Kota should make manual stow easier than having to dis-assemble parts to get to it ...

From what I have seen it is not a big deal, heck if you are on the water without a screwdriver then there is definitely a screw loose!!! Unlikely you will even have to do this but if you do no big deal.
