    I have a new Humminbird 1199 and wanting to buy a map card. Can anyone tell me is there much advantage paying extra for Platinum card over the Premium card. Looking at buying The Navionics HotMaps Premium or the Platinum South card

    I just ordered the navionics plus card. I dont have it in hand as of yet. From the research i did the sonar charts look awesome and have a lot of detail.

    Check the unit for compatibility. My Lowrance Elite-5 DSI wouldn't accept the platinum, but would the premium.

    I believe this is right. I had to buy the Hotmaps Premium South for my 899 and 859.

    CA, check out the new Lakemaster card. See if it has your lakes on it. I used mine yesterday for the first time and blows my premium south card out of the water for the lakes I fish. Plus it is cheaper.
