I have two HDS 7 Touches on my crappie boat. They are both on the NMEA system. They are Ethernet together. I also have a point 1 on the NMEA system. Waypoints show up on both units. Everything is working. Now I have added a Elite 7 on the bow. Will the waypoints transfer through the NMEA system to the Elite 7 ?
Thanks
I have asked this same question on another site also.

I'm no expert, but I believe if you enter a waypoint on one of the touch units , it will transfer the waypoint to the Elite 7 if the units are connected on the NMEA system. Don't expect any waypoints already on the touch units to transfer to the Elite as they do on the touch units connected by an ethernet cable. You might have to enter them all manually. Also, waypoints will most likely not be deleted if you drop a waypoint off one of the touch units and expect the Elite unit to do the same. Waypoint management between touch units is done pretty much seamlessly when they are networked, but the NMEA system is more of a crapshoot. If I had that setup I would put a touch unit on the console and on the bow networked with the ethernet cable, and use the elite 7 on the console for sonar, using your touch unit for SI, and or chart. Of course, you could always get another touch unit instead of the Elite and have them all networked. That probably isn't what you want to hear. If you got the Elite for the bow to get the DI with the HDI transducer, the HDI transducer will work with a touch unit. If you have a Structure Scan transducer on the stern, it will not work with the Elite unit. That's not to say the Elite unit won't work on the bow, its just work work as well as networked HDS units if you expect the NMEA system to work as well as networked touch units. My two cents worth, hope someone else will chime in with their opinions.
