Default HDS7 Gen 2 touch overlay data

Maybe I can save someone the frustration I went through adding overlay data to my screens on my HDS7 touchscreen. I like to display the voltage on my chart(map) page. In it's original version the unit had hidden screens, one of which was how you access the overlay data menu. Lowrance did an upgrade and eliminated the hidden menus, which improved some functions but I could not find the overlay data menu and the manual has not been updated and all the u-tube videos showed how to do it from the hidden menus.
Once you do the upgrade you can tap the power key which is how you do a soft shutdown and some other functions. On that same screen the overlay and edit overlay are shown and that is how you add, delete and configure the data you want to show on any particular screen.
I about went nuts paging through menus until I stumbled across the menu page when you hit the power key. To be honest, I hit the power key and hit shutdown without noticing the overlay data edit was there.
Hope this saves someone some time.

When using units with the new 4.0 or higher software the Gen2 touches have about the same layout as the Gen3 units.
Whatching some videos on the Gen3s really help when learning the new operating system.

I must not have the newer version. I edited one of the screens this weekend. Do you like this version or the old version better?

Once I figured out where the menu moved to I like not having to hunt hidden screens. It is a really nice unit to use. Still getting used to it.
