Default losing depth when under way

I was fishing a tournament today when under 25mph no problem holding depth but any faster and it would jump to 300ft and the screen would fall apart I slow down and it would catch up and was okay I never had this problem before.I think the transducer must be moving under pressure thats all I can think yet everything looks and feels normal any I deas I should look for to solve this problem like chart speed ect.

Have you checked the transducer? What type is it? Where is it mounted?

Your transducer is loose or got knocked out of adjustment.

What brand and model of transducer is this?
Can you post some pictures of where it is mounted?

I have seen it where boat load placement makes this difference. The right and wrong position in the water is very fine for Tducer. Sometimes we can put people or gear off to one side, raising the boat 1 inch on a side. This will cause the Tducer to loose contact with water surface while the boat is on pad or planed out. Go try it again, if it has been fine for 2 years.

I would say if you never had it happen until now, the transducer got moved a little bit. Only other thing I can think of is that your ping speed was decreased. Might be a good idea to check you ping setting and see if you need to bump it up a little bit.

Not sure on the birds, but I know it makes a big difference on the lowrance.
