    Default Question for Humminbird Greg

    I downloaded humminbirdpc. When I tried to open it I got this error message;
    cannot open because MSVCR71.dII is missing from your computer. try re-installing the program.
    I tried re-installing still getting the same error message, it is a brand new computer. Any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Here is a link that will let you know what it is you are dealing with. I have no knowledge of this, but hopefully it will be a simple fix for you. Please report back on how you fixed it because I want to install HumminbirdPC myself

    I get the same message on my work PC as well (I get it twice) but the program opens and works anyways.
    Let us know the outcome.

    I get it twice also, hit OK on both, but program will not open. I thought it was a problem with the new computer I bought so I took it back to Bestbuy and swapped for a new one.
    Installed again on 2nd new computer, same thing.

    Have you tried loading it with Foxfire or Google Chrome? I have both on my computer, and sometimes a program will load running one, and not the other.

    Had a big day trying to fix this problem. First call Humminbird tech support on my lunch break. On hold 28 minutes, tech answers and cannot hear me. Hang up go back to work. Get home from work and call HP tech support. HP says it is a Microsoft problem but they will fix it for me for $69, I express to them how happy I am to have to spend money to get my new computer working. Hang up call Microsoft tech support, they tell me it is an HP problem, but they will fix it for me for $59. Express great happiness about having to spend money to fix my brand new computer. Hang up call Geek Squad, they tell me it is a Humminbird problem, but they will try to fix it for me for $29. as long as it doesn't take over 30 minutes. Express loads of happiness ! Geek squad then tells me to try and check for updates for my computer. I check and download 92 updates, re-start computer, download hummingbirdpc, try to open, SAME problem.
    A this point don't know if it is worth it
