    Got the Gateway and Nmea 2000 set up ,
    no instructions,
    do you cut power in anywhere ?

    The NMEA network has to be powered if that is what you are asking.

    I hope it's worth it. I'd love to be able to tell my xi5 to go to the next brush pile from the main fish finder

    yes, but does it matter where you cut the power into the system?

    No. Most people put the T for the power node at one end, but it can be in the middle of the network.
