Default SI or DI first ?

I am going to purchase one of the Helix units. Never owned an SI or DI, 2d only. Which would you buy first ? which ever I buy first, I will probably buy the other next year. Really had my mind set on the DI first, then I saw the bluegill bed pics in another thread and it has me wanting a SI now.
Can someone help me spend some money ?

For the money these units are costing I would go with the SI, you wont regret it. Looked at some yesterday and liked em a lot, lot of bang for the buck me thinks!!!

I went with the Helix DI/GPS thinking that I would pick up a used 800-900 series in a year or two for SI. At that point the Helix will be used for GPS only.

Definitely SI first, IMHO! SI allows you to look for structure a lot more efficently than DI.

DI shows targets under the boat ... And out to the sides a few feet ...

SI shows targets under the boat ... Out to sides 100+ feet ...and which side of the boat ...

Good choice jusanothajoe, I’ll tell the manufacturing folks to crank an additional HELIX 5 SI-GPS unit out for you today!

Greg, would it be worth while to upgrade the transducer to HD ? If so how do you go about doing this ? and how much ?
    Thanks
