Can any decode this for me?
Took the boat out today, it got windy, 10 mph+, enter the motor guide ix5 trolling motor,
I was fishing deep brush and anything else I thought might hold a fish.
the xi5 held me pretty much exactly where I asked it to.
Bottom line is I will now be able to go out in much windier condition. I'd never have gone out in 10mph wind before.

pricey but worth it

What I'm asking about, is when the ix5 is in the stowed position. It sticks out over the front of the boat quite a bit and the front roller can hit iit.It wouldn't take much to bust that plactic.
I would like to hear about this before I drop $1,000 plus on this motor in the next few days. Can you move it back or somthing if you have the bracket? And pics please!!!!!!!
A bad day fishing is better then a good day at work. Unless u fish for a living
Minnkota makes a sliding removable bracket for there Motors. It solves this problem.
Yes, you're right about it sticking out. It's a bit of a pain when winching the boat in as it gets in the way on my setup.
i had to mount mine very near the center of the boat or move the navigation light, didn't want to move the light.
Great machine minus the loading issue

I don't think they made this trolling motor to be mounted on a bass boat?
I had three issues while mounting it.
(1) If I used the holes that were already drilled in my boat (for the motorguide digital tour) that I replaced. The head of the Xi5 would stick way out over the side of my boat.I had to turn the trolling motor and make new holes.
(2) when I turned it to keep the head inside of the boat radius, i was limited to were I could drill holes.
(3)It wouldn't work for me, sticking out so far over the front, so I had to make a slide bracket, so I could get it back inside the front of the boat while launching.
