Default Minn Kota total recall on Ulterra

Well, it is wait and see for me. Seems that a total recall has been issued on the Ulterra. I plan to wait it out for a while and see what happens. I will have to stick something on my Pondtoon til they get the problem resolved. Shoot.

Well, there seems to be a noise issue with the frequency channel that controls stow/deploy. Field testing cannot cover all the scenarios of possible failures. I have seen a lot of unexpected results at China Lake. Boom! They expect a possible solution within a month. I gotta Jon Boat that works just fine. Sometimes simple is better. ha

I just spoke to a tech at Minn Kota, like Don said there is an issue with the frequency. The tech said on some units when you go to "stow" that it is not aligning up properly for the motor to lay back to the side and/or not retracting back to the proper height for stowing. He said at this time they have no idea as to when the problem will be resolved. From what I gathered, if you don't see them back out by late March or April then it has most likely been terminated. It's really a big let down for me, I was all set to purchase the 112 unit, now I'm not sure if I should wait it out, go with a Terrova or start looking at a MG. I'm looking to rig a 28ft. pontoon, the auto stow/deploy and auto trim was really going to be a useful features from having to run up to the front every time I move or headed into shallow water, I sure hope they can get it fixed!

It seems I made the right decision to go with a 360 this year Ulterra next year.

I bet they work it out. Lots of time and money and advertising spent just to let it drop.

    I agree.

This is why I like micro switches. Old school, but they work.
