I can tell you jiggin mode didn't show up on my 959, and I read on another post somewhere that they were pulling that info from the download page regarding the 59 units. I think there are tons of questions on jigging mode currently and not a lot of answers !!

Even though Jigging mode isn't in the update for the x59 units......there may be other benefits to having it. I haven't heard any negative effects caused by that release, and there were some other fixes......Not a bad idea to have the same revision on both units.

If you get it on your 899 unit....give us some feedback on the jigging mode.

Looks like the 59 would have jig mode especially since its 2d & DI only? That's mainly a bow unit used for that correct?

Jigging mode is a remedy for the 2d pixelation issue that was created in the SI units with software version 6.570 ...

The DI model units were never affected by this pixelation software issue because the SI software version changed the Si unit's ping sequence between the 2d transmitter and the SI transmitters ...

Another benefit of registering your unit other than updates, is be sure to sign up for Humminbird Select for a additional year of warranty if you bought it new.
