Humminbird Jigging Mode
Humminbird has a new feature in their latest software release that has been discussed in some other threads.
I am starting this thread so it can easily be found with a search and maybe a central place to post info on this feature as the information comes out.
Right now, the REAL information is very minimal. It is being speculated that this feature is intended to solve some of the 83 Khz 2D issues the core HB unit have been experiencing. I have seen one post where a guy indicated when he turns the jigging mode on his ping rate from the transducer is a lot faster......but he is testing out of the water with no real results.
It seems HB has dangled the bait to get the buzz going, but no real info.
Please feel free to download the new software and report the results.

I have a 998 and do not see any new software for it. It also has some 83kHz problems mainly seen in DI and SI.

I checked for my 1198 also, no update available? I went to the sonar page or view, no jigging mode? Restored defaults before and after update. I am wondering if jigging mode works with these DI TD's?

That will be interesting to find out. I saw a post on another forum and a guy with a 859 said he could not find it in his 2D settings menu after he had done the update.Originally Posted by Redge
This update is listed only for the x9 series units right now......I would expect the 98 series to come later. HB always does the update for the current product line first and then to the other units later.

I did verify that the install was applied still no jigging mode.

You might not see it Redge because of your xducer as you stated. You don't have the 83/200kHz 2d xducer.

HMMM.....That's interesting.....Now we need to get info from someone with an x59 series unit and the DI wide transducer that has 83/200......Or someone with a x59ci HD without di.
Redge....is your 959 the Di model or just the 2D model?
I didn't think the x59 units had a problem with the 2D anyway.....just the SI units......The accelerated ping rate does sound like it would be helpful for vertical jigging, however.
