    Default New Terrova

All rigged up and tested in the cold, rain and wind..... everything is good! Thanks BBG Marine. Is going to make fishing (and I hope catching) a whole lot easier.

Next step is mounting SI transducer to Terrova..... will follow the good sticky post here. But any additional, comments, advice, cautions or experiences that would be helpful before undertaking this endeavor? How has the adhesive you used to fasten cable in groove holding up?

Probably will use black marine RTV sealant instead of epoxy. Guess both of these stay put judging from all the responses to this post. Did you go continuous or just in spots?

I used black Pematex from Autozone and applied a continuous line up the shaft. Then took a roll of electric tape and wrapped it from one end of the shaft to the other overlapping each wrap. Let it set up for a couple a days then remove electric tape and reinstall shaft. The Permatex has been on there 3 years trouble free.

I've had Terrovas + HB1197 for years and make out fine with no adhesive or filler. 2 or 3 wraps of electrical tape at both top & bottom of shaft hold the transducer cable tight. The big advantage comes when you have to remove the Terrova or transducer for any reason. Without adhesive/filler, it's easy.

Thanks! Good to hear that works.... might just tack it a place or two to be sure!

Will this unit fit the groove on the terrova?

I don't think any of the Lowrance cables are small enough in diameter to fit.
