    It's something in the unit then. I take it you did a soft reset? Be sure to back up all your files before doing a hard reset. If that doesn't work I'd call Lowrance CS, they have been very good to me.

    I'm with Justin... I think it is in the unit. Your above statement cemented it for me. Contact customer support. They have also been good to me and very quick.

    One addition I would say: Do you have all of your "yellow" wires tied together? The yellow wires are in the power bundle for the LSS unit and for the HDS unit. Reason I ask is the yellow wire is used to "wake" a unit.
    The LSS instructions will tell you to wire the yellow directly to your ignition bus or to a switch however, it should be tied directly to your other yellow wires so the unit can be powered by the HDS 5, 7, 8, 10.....

    I still say it is your HDS unit however
