    That's what I do to............ I think the map download was 10 bucks..........I have spent way more than that on way more useless stuff.

    gps eats phone batteries.
    Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

    What problem do you have using the etrex? That is what I use .

    You don't have to leave your phone "ON" all the time. Mine goes into sleep mode after 1 minute saving battery. You don't need to have the app open all the time. Only when you are navigating.

    Look for 1 second updates on gps.
