NEVER RECORDED BEFORE SO HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS,HAVE A 998.
1-HOW FAST SHOULD I GO WITH SI SCANNING.
...0.1 - 5.0mph with matching chart speed ... (1.5 - 3mph is best) ...
2- IF RECORDING WITH SI AND ALSO HAVE GPS ON ,CAN I AT HOME WATCH IT FULL SCREEN WITHOUT GPS ON SCREEN ON COMPUTER.
...the unit records the raw data so you will be able to change views and settings just like live scanning on the water ...(the only settings you cannot change when viewing the recording is "Imaging Frequency" and "SI Range" to a value larger than the SI Range was set at during recording)...
3-IF I RECORD IN 2 OR MORE PLACES ,DO IT START WHERE IT LEFT OFF AND NOT ERASE OTHER SPOT.
...I suggest stopping the recording and restart recording at the new area ... This creates separate recordings for each area ...This not only makes the recordings more manageable but it also allows easier keeping up with which recording was made where ...
4-HOW DO I KNOW WHEN 2G CHIP IS FULL.
...cycle to the "Snapshot and Recording" view during the recording process and the loading bar at the bottom right will show the progression of the recording data to the SD Card ...
5- WHAT DO I NEED FOR HOME COMPUTER TO READ IT,
...Humviewer is the easiest
HumViewer
6 IS IT EASY TO MARK WAYPOINTS ON HOME COMPUTER,
When viewing the recording on the unit...mark waypoints during the recording playback just like you were on the water ... Not only on the chart views but also on any of the sonar views ...
When viewing the recording in Humviewer ... The waypoint tool is in the "Utilities" button at the top right of the Humviewer window ...
THANKS ,I JUST WANT TO DO SOME WINTER HOME WORK
