    It is in the head! Thanks for tip I like having it around my neck to change direction but may have to deal with it until they come out with something with a stronger signal.

    Well ....

    Tom's correct, as usual.

    My beep verification peizo speaker stopped working (SMD driver transistor likely; since I tried soldering in two other piezo beepers) and during dis-assembly I noted the shielded RF area containing the microwave frequency GPS receiver.
    I will do without the beep I am used to that's used at night, as I am NOT paying MK $285 + S&H to get a new head!
