After installing the 7.080 update my unit seems to be working other than while in simaltor mold theres no 83khz.using the unit on the water the 83khz works.(imo) in 2d mold the 200khz doesn't perform as well as it did with my previous version.the 83khz ,well I'm not sure right now.the only 2d view that I think I can get by with, for now would be the 200/83 mold, and imo its not all that great but its the best for me.this picture is from the 200/83

Nope. Don't intend to either. Sticking with 6.49 until the cows come home. Don't have 360 Imaging, iPilot Link, HS or Autocharts. And I don't use Lakemaster charts either. Only item in this update that would affect me (I guess?) is the feature that "Corrects issue where sonar continued to ping after sonar was turned off". A problem I didn't know I had

Didn't know you had a 998 Kosmo. Thought you had switched to the Onix series.

I have an onix 10 at the bow and a 998 at the console. Next year will have a onix at the console to replace the 998

Well at least it looks like (with the 83kHz selected)... the pixels are not as big as leggo blocks as in the previous "new" versions...

We shall see with other's shots as they brave the new software ...

kosmo ....could you do a test for me (us) with the new software on the 998....??

    1st test...

*Put the "Beam Select" on 200kHz ....
*Put the "Imaging Frequency" on 455kHz...
*Get a clean straight full screen history in SI....(your normal scanning boat speed and Chart Speed)...
*Open a zoom box on the vertical line where the water column meets the bottom detail...
*Zoom all the way in on this vertical line...
    *Take a screenshot...
    *Post the screenshot...

    2nd test....

*Put the "Beam Select" on 200kHz....
    *Put the unit on 800kHz....
*Get a clean straight full screen history in SI....(your normal scanning boat speed and Chart Speed)...
*Open a zoom box on the vertical line where the water column meets the bottom detail...
*Zoom all the way in on this vertical line...
    *Take a screenshot...
    *Post the screenshot..

If that includes 83 kHz, I'm impressed. Tweak the settings a little and that would be a really decent image for 83/200. Just not sure why the 83 would be improved while the 200 a bit downgraded. Nothing in this update that I can tell indicates they messed with any of the 2D frequencies.

The first thing that I noticed that was different, was while in simulator I no longer have a 83khz to view, just a blank white screen with only the digital dept ,that was working but no sonar.my 200khz looks really strange now.(tomorrow,I'll run that test and post pictures. )

The Simulator is nothing more than a "live recording" someone at HB performed on the water...

It is then hard coded into the unit....

If whoever made that recording did not have the 83kHz running during the recording...then there will be no data for the 83kHz channel to "play back" in the Simulator...

We can do the same thing with our HB recordings...

When I record, I turn off the 83kHz channel...simply to have less data to load for the Humviewer program playback...(but that's another story)...

Why the 83kHz channel was turned off for the ONIX Simulator recording...we can only guess...

Maybe the 83kHz running during the ONIX Simulator recording made the rest of the Simulator recording look...uh...not so good...
