There ya go....
I typically troll late season eyes in c-c-c-cold water and sometimes we need to drag stick baits @ .7-.8 MPH to get bit.

Thats not what I'm saying.rickie probably correct about geting a square object proportioned properly by matching boat speed with scroll.
What im saying is why do you want to wait so long for your screen to update if you have the option to speed it up without loosing a hole lot?
kosmo has a very good point in "it's what you want to see"...
As long as the user is understanding what the image is showing...and the "mind's eye" can interpret this into something comprehensible in his own understanding of what is being scanned...then "accurate perspective" in the image is not necessary....
The same idea is used when increasing Chart Speed to elongate fish echoes....we know those elongated fish echoes are not "true to perspective"...we intentionally made them longer with a higher Chart Speed for the specific purpose of making them stand out better in the image....
I was interested in seeing if kosmo's 998 processed Chart Speed with 7.090 the same way my 1197 processes Chart Speed
with 6.310...
Cewl shots kosmo...inundated old Birmingham...??

no,the foundation is in little bear.i don't have pictures that show the affect of the different chart speeds, but I believe that with your 1197,using the record/play back, you can change the appearance of objects but I can nolonger do that with the newer software.
Heres a picture from Birmingham. The 360 is from the onix.the si is from the 998 with boat speed about 3 and chart speed 5
