    Default 1198 gps speed problem

My 1198 doesn't register correctly at very low speeds. When trying to troll slowly it doesn't match my other gps.0.0-0.9 it reads about half of my other and bounces around. Both are Humminbirds. Is there a fix for this?

We have noticed this issue with any software version new enough to run the AS GPS HS antenna ...which would be about 6.570 in most units...

Which software version are you currently running..??

is the anything that could be blocking your GPS from getting a signal trees , clouds

also I was in a friends boat a couple weeks ago a set a pair of needle nose pliers down to close to the puck and everything went haywire

??? seems like a lot of little things can cause problems

Interesting about the pliers my HDS will bounce around from .8 to 1.2 for example. I always try to pick somewhere in the middle. I just got a touch screen 9 and an elite 7. Being installed as we speak so hopefully the new units won't have a problem

I will tell you what they told me. Yes they are aware of the problem. No there is not a fix but if you send fifty dollars they will send you a different puck that might or might not solve your problem. Yes they were aware of the problem when that unit was sold.

I have a Suzuki Df 175 outboard and my manual states that the motor can cause interference with transom mounted gps pucks while running.

    CAPP,
Which GPS Receiver are you suing with your 1198 unit (look on the top of it and post back what is printed there)?
Which software version are you running in your 1198 unit?
