    Default HDS 2.5 update

I did the 2.5 update. It looks like it has a lot of improvements in it.

One thing I find interesting is now I can keep PDF files on a chip in the unit, so I can read the owners manual so I can find all the bells and whistles on the unit, or keep other information that I may want to be able to access available. Maybe keep personal fishing data on it so I can find it while I am fishing, instead of just at home.

There is an update for WIFI connections to connect to a phone, and HD scan files are available. Also the ability to shade depth ranges on the chart maps.

Anyone else have any pros or cons on the update?

Drifty4, you can also save unit settings for the different lakes you fish. Very nice. You can also keep other manuals like I-Pilot or other units.

Go to the Lowrance site and download the free update to your computer. Unzip the download. Put the update file on a clean memory chip and put it in the unit.

When you turn the unit on, it will update. Follow the onscreen instructions to not turn it off, and when it is done it will tell you to remove the chip. When you do the unit will reboot, and away you go.

Turn both units off and remove any cards(maps). Install 1 unit at a time. <*)}}}><
