Thread: my opinion of the onix

I have used a nusheild screen protector on my 1198 and my touch screen phones and tablets. It works well and cleans easily

BrownTrout is correct about the HB recommendation for cleaning.

Bob,could you try and find the name of the product that youve mentioned . I'll give it a try.i was using the windex that brown trout mentioned,but ive switched to armor all.the armor all works much better imo. Also,ive been reading a thread on another forum that seems to have a whole lot of negitive comments about the onix.(this is my opinion about onix or 1199)theres no way that I would take the 1199 over the onix.(as long the onix is running the 1.150 or newer software).well actually,even with the blurps of the earlier onix software its still would be my pick.

I was starting to think I just dreamed about it...

I thought id give an update on the onix . I'm still really liking this unit even with its minor blurps,it still pretty good.i can go out fishing,using this unit all day and not notice any glitches,but when I start playing around with the different settings is when I start finding these little blurps.so far,for me,the worst problem that ive incountered is if I turn on the bottom fill and then start fooling around with color pallets ,my unit will lock up and I will have to reboot.(it takes a long time the onix to reboot).I also don't care for the way the setting adjustments work on the touch screen.(humminbird needs to work on those two issues that ive just mentioned).
Well thats about it for now other than this picture of my transducer mounted on my trolling motor.

Bob, Brian sent me some Krystal Vision last year and it is a great product. Wave Away is also good.

Brian also sent me some Krystal Vision, it works great for cleaning but I can't tell it helps prevent any smudges on my Touch units. I keep a small bottle of 50/50 mix of IPA and water, it does a great job cleaning the screens too. I'm afraid to stick anything on my screens.
