    Default Spotting crappies at long distances using Humminbird Side Imaging


    One of the more frequent questions that I receive at seminars or by e-mail is, "how do I use Side Imaging to spot fish at long distances?" There are a few set of circumstances when this is difficult, especially when fish are scattered over very hard bottoms. However, most of the time, I can spot fish cruising 100 ft or more from my boat by making a couple of quick adjustments to Side Imaging sensitivity, contrast, and sharpness. Many of these same adjustments allow the fish to be monitored using 360 Imaging while still fishing or slowly drifting.

    This quick tutorial shows how it can be done for early season crappies, staging over deep water flats in preparation for the spawning run:

    any suggestions for how to use SS for looking under docks for dock shooting ??
