This will tell which is more accurate. If FF should varying speed (less than .5) and distance is less than 44' it is correct. Use create route between the 2 waypoints to get distance.
Well Howdy, I did not make the connection until you revealed yourself. I'm Stymie everywhere.

Winds are supposed to be mighty high this weekend around here. Doubt this test will work. I will keep my eye on the problem anyway while I'm out.

So I went to the lake recorded an i track set cruise control on .5 let ipilot settle into .5mph running the track and marked a bunch of waypoints 1 minute apart. I pilot report speed at a constant .5mph gps-hs reported .2 MPH. The waypoints vary 2' at most and are mostly 44' apart.

Jim.... Does your test indicate that we need the AS GPS HS reading 0.2mph to get the same forward boat speed of 0.5mph on other devices...??

It was consistent that .2mph on gps-hs equaled .5MPH on ipilot. Above 1.2 mph both ipilot and gps-hs showed the same speed all the way up to 3.4 mph (max tm speed). It seems they are dampening the speed reading just a little to much. Not to mention that my HS is almost 60 degrees off compared to my boat compass if I align it parallel to the keel. It made the boat look like it was sliding sideways in heading up. I have sent a detailed email back to HB service with screen shots. I still do not get sats 46,48 to ever show up and 51 never goes black. Hook gr50 up 46,48,51 show right up and at least 1 goes black in 2-3 minutes. Maybe I just got a bad one and it needs to be replaced.

I didn't notice a significant difference in my Heading icon and my keel orientation....(when I tested last Saturday)..

I hope to get out more soon to do more tests...

I did get both my AS GRHA and the AS GPS HS mounted on top of da 'ducer apparatus ™ now so that I can unplug 1 and plug in the other...

My biggest decision will be if I can give up my <3 ft accuracy of my HA ...

(I wonder why HB would dampen the speed below 1.2...??)

Jim, how close to your TM steering motor is your puck? I initially got faulty heading information and traced it back to being too close to the TM.

Update, I called HB support yesterday. They know the issue of only getting 0-+30 degree heading offset and the problem only happens if you do not have ethernet will be addressed in next release. HB is looking in to the speed error, I provided them with screen shots and waypoints. HB is also looking in to the GPS-HS not seeing Sats 46 and 48, again screen shot provided to HB. They are going to have to look at the unit I return to determine why head is so far off.

I got the sense that the new GPS-HS was built using internals from gen1/2 ipilot gps. As good as my gen 1 I pilot is this is a good thing.

They are shipping me a new one.

So did HB explain how Ethernet has anything to do with the offset setting only showing 0-30...??
