I made a single comment based on my opinion after seeing all the posts about the issues. Then here you come calling me names, etc. What Greg does on forums is at his own free will, not related or part of his job at Humminbird. This has been made clear by Greg on the boards. Credit should be given to Greg for supporting his employer. He's a great guy from what I can tell.

Thanks Mike, I try to help whomever I can. I also used to post on a Pinewood Derby forum as well when my sons were in Cub Scouts (also with Raingutter Regatta posts too). That’s just a part of who I am and my beliefs (to help those I can).

Humminbird has been looking into the reported problems with the recent software releases; a few of which have been user related but certainly not all of them. I’m confident that when a fix is developed that it will be released as another software update.

Greg, I just want to know how we can help with the discrepancy between the different GPS antennas. Rickie did some ground work, I've noticed the speed differences. If its user generated, then please tell us what we are doing wrong.

I just noticed the manual has heading offset -30 to +30 degrees but the menu option on my unit only has 0 to +30. Rickie what about yours?

I will check this when I can Jim... I'm stuck at work thru Thursday....

I did check the manual like you did and it, indeed, says "-30 to 30, Default 0"...

Maybe Friday...I will be able to check the unit ....

    Stymie,
I don’t think that the end user can affect the speed readout readings at all (other than the GPS Receiver installation). This will need to be looked into by Engineering. I don’t have one of these so there is nothing I can test either (not that I have the time to right now).

I got time. Send me one. I will test it for you. Throw in a 1198 so I can do a good job testing.

Stymie, I'm fsae99 over on BBC. Here is what you can do set i pilot to .5mph on cruise control wait for it to get settled on ,5mph hit the mark button and start stop watch at same time when stop watch hits 1 min hit mark again watch speed read out on ipilot and FF. the distance between the 2 wp's should be 44' exactly if you were going exactly .5mph during the whole minute. This will tell which is more accurate. If FF should varying speed (less than .5) and distance is less than 44' it is correct. Use create route between the 2 waypoints to get distance.

Boat is in the shop. Trying to rig things up on my Jon Boat. Hard to do with the winds we have had here lately. It's gonna work.
