2) This "new and improved" HDS will have SI/DI all in one head unit so no more separate LSS-2.

all in one transducer is good. touch screen for us older folks with fat dumb fingers, not so good. young folks should love it.

The touch screan smears some when you touch them. Friend has a touch screen Garmin. By the way, I caught a bunch of fish on those jigs you sent me. Catfish straightened one out.

Touch screen with slimely fish hands don't sound like such a great idea, won't work if wearing gloves either. Dumb idea IMO. I'll stick with my H-Birds I have now.

Don't use your slimy fish hands, or gloved hands .... touch screens don't have to be touched by "skin" to work !!

Personally, I'm surprised this technology hasn't been introduced into the depthfinder market before now I mean, how long has the computer & cell phone systems had this capability ?? DF's are basically in the same category (now) !!

I'm just wondering how long it will be before they come up with a depth finder REMOTE CONTROL

I hope the new units are better than the Gen 2. IMO Gen 2 are junk wish i would have stayed with the first Hds units. The Lss 2 transducer is way to big and my motor blocks half of my side imaging on the right side. My waypoints are off from downloading from old units. But im still going to stay with lowrance its only going to get better.
