    Default Broke down, got a gps


    Finally did it, got a garmen etrex 10. Now I need to figure out how to use it! Im a Gps virgin! Any tips? Tricks? Hints? Doesnt come with a instruction manual. Need to go online and print it out. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Gary.

    Just use it, it won't take long. I tried mine in the yard and around the neighborhood some to practice. Good luck.

    I did as told, wow! I have been missing out! It's amazing how many spots u can mark in a short amount of time! Found two more putting around!

    Those Garmin Etrex are really nice units and quite accurate, you are going to love that one.

    You can start at the bank and fish out deeper and figure out where the bite is best. But when a storm with 5 ft rolllers comes up you can't even guess where you are without a good GPS. Not having a clue is probably the worst feeling I have ever had as a father, being lost in a storm on a lake. Don't chance it. Your GPS when turned on, will show you where you started, and allow you to get back. zoom might be the most important setting on a handheld.
