No. The majority of i-Pilot Link functions do not require a 2013 LakeMaster chip. The only feature that requires a 2013 LakeMaster chip is <Follow the Contour>; the rest will work with any year's LakeMaster chip, a chip from a different vendor, or no chip at all.

What componets does the Link add? I realize there is a new remote is there something that hooks up to ethernet also, and if you have 2 units linked together do you need to add a 5 port hub to make this work?

The i-Pilot Link accessory package supplies a new i-Pilot Link head unit with ethernet access, new remote, remote charger, and a length of ethernet cable to assist with rigging.

If you are currently running two units that are connected by an ethernet network, then you will need to add a 5-port ether net hub to maintain that network and tie in the i-Pilot Link system.

Can this be added by just adding a new remote?

Are the i-Tracks still limited to 2 miles in length?

No. i-Pilot Link is a totally new system with a new remote (of course), new hardware and software in the motor head unit, and networking hardware to allow the trolling motor head unit to communicate with the on-board Humminbird fish finders. There is no cross-compatibility of i-Pilot Link with any current i-Pilot system hardware.
