    Default Garmin Data Card Reader

Does anyone have a Garmin data card reader? It's proprietary to Garmin cards. Need a little help. PM me if you have one and are willing.

    Wannabe,
I do not have a data card reader, but needed to update software in an older Garmin unit. They have a program where they will load the latest software on a data card and mail it to you. You load software and mail it back. They do get a $50.00 deposit and you pay for the postage. My net cost was less than $10.00. Hope this helps!

Thanks, but I'm trying to load mapping data on a card. Got the card, got the software, lost the reader. I'm good at doing stewpit stuff like that. Matter of fact, I'm famous for it.

If you have the Garmin computer connect able, you can load the data onto the card while it's in your unit. That's how I used to do it. I sold my cable with my Garmin unit though. Are you trying to load something from Garmin Mapsource Inland Lakes? A buddy of mine may have a card reader, or a cable. I have the Mapsource 2010 Inland Lakes CD. Might be possible to have you send the chip and have me or my buddy load the data onto it.

I have a GPSMap 276c that can do it. It uses USB. Ima guessing you talking about that expensive dedicated memory card. I can loan you my 276 if needed. However, you will haveta give billbob a real juicy liplock for security.
