ive always believed that di used to locate shallow water fish around structure was a bad ideal .this new technology that humminbird has,in my opinion will be a real game changer in the way anglers will approach shallow water structure and fish. way to go humminbird

So, the 798 won't be compatible because it's not ethernet capable?

I see a lot of HB talk from customers saying they'll do what they've always done, scan through, mark, and fish. Still can't get over the fact that this thing has to be lower than the boat. Imagine Truman, reelfoot, any lake with standing timber, it'll be ugly to say the least.

I'd like to see that 360 and GPS split screen. Anyone the boat indicator has anything to do with heading, or just the position vs what's being shown?

I'm going to stay on topic. My post was about the product. I got an email from HB about it. can you hook it to the DI unit that you use on your TM?

fish smarter with a fully loaded humminbird

To get the detail and unprecedented coverage of Humminbird 360 Imaging, you'll need an Ethernet-ready, Side Imaging-equipped Humminbird fishfinder. Compatible models include:
    1198c SI Combo | 998c SI Combo | 898c SI Combo | 798ci HD SI Combo

It only had to be lower than the deepest feature attached to your boat. You could trim up your outboard and raise the TM higher and not have to deploy it quite as deep.

this is just what i would do.i would not lower it deeper than needed for the direction that i would be using . which for me would be strait ahead or to one side about 45 degrees. they probably will send a dummy proof manual with it for people like youRoflRofl(you deploy it from the unit your using)
