I can understand why they say they can better tell on the 2d screen. I have the Elite 7 DSI and I am still trying to find the right settings to give me a clear image with contrast. I can put the 2 screens side by side and the color and contast on the 2D jump out at you and if you are familar with the images you can pretty much tell what you are seeing, even though it is left to some interpretation and you may not know 100% what the image is. I am hoping the DI mode would take some of the guesswork out of it, but mostly what I get looks like a blurred film negative and you can not make out distinct features like limbs on a tree or fish suspended around brush.
I printed a copy your setting you posted earlier and I am going to try them and see if it improves the clarity on my DI screen, I have not tried the Blue Gradient but I have tried so many different settings for the clarity, noise, etc that I've lost tract of how it is currently set up.
I am going to use all your settings and see if I get better images. If I ever get a tree to be as defined as you show it in your post I will be a happy camper.
Still have an issue with the slow GPS update, but from reading other posts looks like I am going to need to swap out my Navionics card for the Hotmaps to get that fixed. Wish I had know this when I dropped the $$ for the Navionics card, but I have one in my HB and it was never a probelm.
