I have been considering this unit too. It seems to be a decent unit.

OK .. I remembered having discussed the DSI cone angle question, and Kosmo showed this :

Now ... if someone can figure out how wide a 6deg cone angle slice is, vs x feet of water depth .... or knows the equation to figure it out (TOM Thumbs Up ) ... then we're on our way to having a mental picture of the area of coverage of this DSI unit, given what depth of water we're sitting in.

after comparing the humminbird picture with the other picture that has the lowrance coverage i would guess that the coverage area on 800khz is a little wider and the coverage area on 455khz is a little narrower than the humminbird
