I haven't actually tried the update myself but it is definately an interesting question....Maybe someone can give more info that has installed and tried the update...

I'll download to my one of my 898's and try it Saturday. I doubt the circle of love has been remedied since no fanfare about it, but you never know.

Doug Vahrenberg and another guy is claiming its fixed on another site ,just thought people would want to know if its fixed

Took the plunge. Downloaded to both units. ( I'm fishing familiar waters and can live with uh-ohs for the sake of my fellow crappie fishermen !! )

I'll know tomorrow if I can determine direction while on a slow troll. I've read a couple of forums, really haven't seen a definitive "YES, the COL is fixed".

Sorry but I dont believe its fixed. I have the latest version on my 2 units and they are both 2011 models ( 798-1198 ) and the donut is still there on mine below.6 mph. Dang it!!
